The former nurse Lucy Letby has been found guilty of trying to kill a premature baby girl in the neonatal unit where she worked in Chester.
After a retrial the 34 year old was convicted of attempting to murder the child, referred to in court as Baby K, at the Countess of Chester Hospital. In August 2023 a jury at Manchester Crown Court found Letby guilty of the murders of seven babies and the attempted murders of six others at the hospital’s neonatal unit between June 2015 and June 2016. She was sentenced to life in prison for the offences.1
